Taxpayers can view a streaming video of an IRS Small Business Workshop, take an IRS course, or complete an online self-directed version of a workshop taught live around the country. Most of the classes can be taken online or by ordering a CD version of the course that will be mailed to the taxpayer at no charge. Classes are also available in Spanish.
Small Business Tax Workshops
These workshops are designed to help the small business owner understand and fulfill their federal tax responsibilities. Workshops are sponsored and presented by IRS partners (nonprofits and government staff) who are tax specialists. Workshop topics vary from a general overview of taxes to more specific topics such as recordkeeping and retirement plans.
Small Business Tax Workshop—Student/Instructor Materials
From the IRS online classroom, you can access the Small Business Tax Workshop student and instructor materials. Lessons include: business tax requirements, employment taxes, employer's quarterly federal tax return, employer's annual federal unemployment (FUTA) tax return, electronic filing and payment, business use of your home, and tax incentives for employers.
Virtual Small Business Workshop
This video workshop can be viewed online over a high speed, medium speed, or dialup connection. The videos are available in English with captioning provided in both English and Spanish. Workshop modules include: business structures, payroll taxes, electronic filing, business expense deductions, recordkeeping, and small business website.
