IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers offer in-person help and solutions to tax problems. No appointment is required. You can make an appointment, however. Multilingual assistance is available in every office. The offices provide answers to your tax questions, information about your tax accounts, and help preparing a basic individual return if your income is $35,000 or less.
The Taxpayer Advocate's Office
The Taxpayer Advocate is an independent organization within the IRS. This office help taxpayers resolve problems with the IRS and recommend changes that will prevent the problems. The Taxpayer Advocate researches and publishes annual reports to Congress relating to common problems experienced by taxpayers.
