Foundations and Grants
The Office of Partnerships and Grant Services. (OPGS) OPGS is DC's central clearinghouse for information on local and federal government grants. Research is the first step toward getting a grant. OPGS can help you identify funding opportunities that fit your nonprofit's needs and goals. Grants.gov This website helps users find federal government grants. You can search the site for information on grants from all 26 federal grant-making agencies. You can also register to be notified automatically of future grant opportunities as they are added to the site. Chronicle of Philanthropy This biweekly publication offers news and information about foundations and other topics of interest to nonprofits. The Foundation Center The Foundation Center maintains the most comprehensive online foundation information, including a foundation finder, links to over 1,500 foundation websites, and a weekly philanthropy news update. Training sessions and other seminars are offered to the public at the center in downtown DC. The center also offers detailed reports on foundation grants for approximately $20 per month. Philanthropy Journal This publication offers philanthropy and nonprofit news and information. Also see Support Organizations, as some of these groups provide fundraising information.
